Gu Jue’s eyes were not pure black in colour but were a little brown.
When he laughed, they shined like little brown jewels.
His lips, hydrated by the beverage in his hand, glistened, making him extremely charming.

“Because I already had money.” His fingers rested on the side of the cup and he said with a slight drag, “I borrowed money just to add you on WeChat.”

Ruan Anan was flabbergasted.
With a gulp, she swallowed two pearls.

The pearls in Ruan An’an’s milk tea were boba pearls – one size bigger than the ordinary ones, and she swallowed two of them together.
Ruan An’an choked so hard that she ended up coughing twice.
She only calmed down after taking a long sip of milk tea.

However, because of Gu Jue’s sentence, her entire face was flushed.

When the two parted ways, Ruan An’an walked away fast, not knowing that Gu Jue stared at her with interest for a while, before turning around with a smile, and walked in the opposite direction from her.

At University C Affiliated Hospital.

When Gu Jue opened the door to the ward, there was a pig slaughtering howl.

As soon as the patient on the first bed saw him, he immediately stretched out his hand “Gu Dog–!”

Xue Zhao yelled with a loud voice “I have waited for you all morning! I’m the one with a broken leg, not you, are you expecting me to pick you up with just one foot?! Why are you so slow???”

Xue Zhao was accustomed to being loud and noisy and Gu Jue gained immunity to it after being friends for so many years.

Gu Jue waited by the door as he watched the nurse adjust the bed for Xue Zhao, and only walked over calmly when it was done, “Do you miss dad?”

“…” Xue Zhao gritted his teeth.
“Nothing humane really comes out of your mouth, you’re just like a dog that barks.”

Gu Jue raised his eyebrows.

He did not really care about that nickname, just amused to see his friend exploding like dynamite.

The reason for Dynamite Xue Zhao’s broken leg could be explained in three simple sentences; –a broken heart, drunk driving, and car accident.

Gu Jue caught a glimpse of some writings on Xue Zhao’s bandage plaster when he walked towards the bed.
At a closer look, it was covered with greetings and wishes -“get well soon you dog”, “there are plenty of fishes in the sea”, “there will always be a better one”, and so on.
It must be written by that bunch who visited earlier.

It was all very relevant and full of warnings.

Xue Zhao saw the direction of his gaze, and quickly said, “What are you doing! What are you going to do, Gu Dog?! I’m telling you now! No! No—”

Gu Jue ignored him, picked up the marker beside him, and wrote on his plaster with a smile, “Since they have written all the rational stuff, let me write something that will encourage you.”

Xue Zhao craned his neck to look while scolding.

Gu Jue wrote five very eye-catching characters.

——Son, better luck next time.

Xue Zhao flushed with anger “Gu Dog you f̲u̲c̲k̲i̲n̲g̲…!!!”

After Gu Jue had finished writing, he took out his cell phone and started to snap pictures of all the inspirational quotes on the plaster while Xue Zhao increased the intensity of his curses.

Xue Zhao’s lung capacity had reached its limit after five minutes of rigorous cursing, he finally gasped and asked, “… so what is your plan for coming back this time? Holiday? Or are you ready to take over your family’s domestic business?”

“Both.” Gu Jue sat on the sofa next to him, his long legs bent, “I am considered free now, after so many years of studies.”
